802.1x Configuration - Windows 7

Configuration steps:

Step 1

Click with the right mouse button on the network icon and choose "Open Network and Sharing Center".


Step 2

Click on the "Manage wireless networks" link.


Step 3

If it exists, select the 'eduroam-guest' network and press the "Remove" button to delete it.


Step 4

Press the "Add" button to add a new network.


Step 5

Choose "Manually create a network profile"


Step 6

Fill in the data as shown in the picture.

Network name: eduroam

Security type: WPA2-Enterprise

Encryption type: AES


Step 7

We still need to modify some network options, so press "Change connection settings"


Step 8

In the "Security" tab, press "Settings..."


Step 9

Uncheck the "Validate server certificate" checkbox and press "Configure..."


Step 10

Uncheck the only option that appears in the "EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties" window.

Press "OK" to close all the open windows.


Step 11

Windows will ask for your credentials as it tries to connect to the eduroam network. Click with the left mouse button on the baloon to enter the credentials.


Step 12

You must insert your username followed by the Portuguese Catholic Univerisity's headquarters domain "@lisboa.ucp.pt" and your password.

Your computer is now ready to access the UCP wireless lan, as well as the wireless lan of any e-U institution.
